In this architecture and construction course, the concepts of form and technique are treated as a single problem, with special importance, almost dominating significance, to structural design. Moreover, significant importance is given to energy design.
The course is comprised of a theoretical part and a further part in which the student develops a project, normally a significant contemporaneous building, with the technical systems of the student’s choice.
The theoretical course is organised by technologies: wall systems, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel, enclosure sections. The classes include the description of a large amount of significant modern buildings.
Professor: Ramón Araujo Armero
The objective of the course is to complete the construction training with the application thereof to architectonic design and a global vision of architecture as a construction technique.
Application of construction systems to architecture projects for different uses and scales, studying mainly collective property, office spaces, auditoriums, schools and sports pavilions.
The theoretical part is focused upon the trends of the different types of construction and the technical considerations of said trends.
The student shall focus upon a certain type in respect of which he/she shall develop a project from a model of his/her choice.
Professors: Ramón Araujo Armero y Enrique Azpilicueta.
The course is focused upon the design of collective dwellings from a technical perspective. The theoretical part, which relates to structural systems, energy, architectural surroundings, etc., is taught by different architects and specialists.
In the practical part, students shall develop the technical aspects of a collective property project from a model of his/her choice.
